The Glass Factory

A creative meeting place, a forum for artistic renewal and a centre for knowledge, all housed in the former Boda Glassworks. The Glass Factory has a range of functions and ambitions. Here you will find around 50,000 glass objects from the 1700s and later, while experimental glassworking is encouraged in the blowing room.

During the 1960s and 1970s, Swedish glass legends such as Erik Höglund, Signe Persson-Melin, Monica Backström, Rolf Sinnemark and Kjell Engman could all be found at Boda. Today, artists, designers, cultural institutions and individuals are invited here to give new perspectives on the collections.

Daily demonstrations give visitors an understanding of the magic of glass, and the blowing room offers space for individual artists to develop their projects. The Glass Factory’s goal is to promote access to culture for everyone.
